NOELLE SHEARER

I’ve been playing piano since I was 4 and writing songs since I was seven. My parents are artists and musicians so I’ve been blessed to grow up in a home that appreciated and encouraged beauty – even when it doesn’t make financial sense!

My earliest memories are of church. I’ve spent most of my life knowing God and wrestling with how to live life honestly and fully for Him. I’m so grateful that he has given me music to express what is inside me. It is such a privilege that the music I write sometimes resonates with others. I know the feeling when I hear a song that says exactly what I would say if I could. It’s amazing to me that once in a while a song I write does that for someone else.

If you are a new friend, I’ll try to describe my music. It is always hard to come up with a label, but I think I’ve made up one that fits. Soulfolk. (It’s a play on ‘soulful’. Clever, eh?) Simple, beautiful instrumentation with vocals that have lots of passion and groove… Lyrics that speak to our best and worst… Honest worship. That’s my heart for what I do.
